Cats, as cute as they may be, are dangerous creatures.
I was playing with my cat moments ago. For some weird reason, he loves playing fetch with hair ties. He wouldn't move from the spot where he'd sat right in front of the TV, so I took off the hair tie I had around my wrist and wiggled it in his line of sight, and as soon as he saw it he jumped for it. Now, when he's just playing he never uses his claws, he just taps whatever we're playing with with his soft little paws, but it seems like we've been neglecting his nail trims since, even with his claws retracted, he's left an inch-long cut that goes diagonally from the nail bed of my right index finger down to the first knuckle.
The cut hurts. It's so thin that it's not even bleeding anymore, but it hurt like a hundred paper cuts one on top of the other. The same incident happened some years ago; you can still see where his razor-like claw cut through the skin between my thumb and the same pointer that he's scratched today. I just hope this time around it doesn't leave a scar behind.
